Attorney John C. Shevlin joined Schlecht, Shevlin & Shoenberger, A Law Corporation, in 1971. Mr. Shevlin devotes a significant portion of his practice to the area of Wills, Trusts, and Estates, providing thorough and personalized representation for estate planning; drafting wills, trusts and other estate planning documents; probate litigation; and, trust administration. Mr. Shevlin is also well versed in appellate work and handles appeals on a case by case basis.
Education and Legal Experience
Mr. Shevlin is an honors graduate of Dartmouth College, receiving his degree in History in 1965. He received his law degree from Stanford University School of Law in 1968. Mr. Shevlin was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1969. Prior to joining Schlecht, Shevlin & Shoenberger, he served as an attorney for the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division Two.

With more than forty-five years of experience, Mr. Shevlin is one of a limited number of attorneys in Riverside County to be named a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Shevlin maintains a broad estate planning and probate practice, representing clients in all stages and all walks of life.

Mr. Shevlin is a member of the Desert Bar Association, the Riverside County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He has served as a Judge Pro Tempore of the Riverside County Superior Court, and is active in a number of community affairs. Mr. Shevlin is a former Director and President of the Palm Springs Public Library, a Director and former President of Friends of the Palm Springs Library, Director of the Desert Hospital Foundation, President and a Director of the Palm Springs Community Concert Association, and a Member of the Palm Springs Rotary Club.
