James M. SchlechtJim Schlecht joined the firm in 1957, and became a partner in 1960. For more than five decades his practice has centered on general business law, and real estate law. Mr. Schlecht has over forty five years of practical experience working on long-term Native American land leases and real estate development. Mr. Schlecht is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he majored in Business Administration before obtaining his Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1954. After being admitted to the California State Bar, Mr. Schlecht joined the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. He moved to Palm Springs when he was appointed a Deputy District Attorney for Riverside County. Mr. Schlecht is a member of the American Bar Association and the Desert Bar Association, for which he served as President and Board Trustee. Mr. Schlecht has been active in the desert community for many years. He served as a Palm Springs City Councilmember, a Palm Springs Unified School Board Director, and a former President of the Palm Springs Chapter of the Lions Club International. Mr. Schlecht has been an active member of the Lions Club for over 50 years. He has also served on a number of Palm Springs City Commissions: Parks and Recreation, the Convention & Visitors Bureau and Economic Development. Practice Areas
